Funeral Services Held Monday for Mrs. Felix Michel
---------------------
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Yocom chapel for Mrs. Felix Michel, who died Saturday at her home, 3 1/2 miles north of Marion, after a short illness.
Elise Kocher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Kocher, was born in a mountain district near Bern, Switzerland, Nov. 7, 1855. Her mother died when she was seven years of age, and she made her home with her grandparents until she was nineteen, when she came west to Center Point and made her home with an aunt. Oct. 8, 1880, she was married to Felix Michel, and had since lived in the same community north of Marion.
Mrs. Michel is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Esther Clough and Mrs. Cecil Albright; two sons, Paul and Carl Michel; three granddaughters, one grandson, and two great-grandchildren. At the age of 40, she joined the Christian church at Alburnett and later transferred to the Marion Christian church. She was devoted to her home and family and beloved by all her friends.
The Rev. H.E. Trimble of Centerville, former pastor of the Marion Christian church, conducted the services Monday. Interment was made in Oak Shade. The pallbearers were D. Earl Miller, Marvin Fernow, Walter Morrison, Leo Voss and George and Ralph Michel.
