MRS. MINNIE B. SMITH DIES AT HOME HERE

Devoted Wife and Mother Passes to Her Reward
Minnie B. Smith, the beloved wife of Rev. S.S. Smith, died at the family home in this city, 940 Tenth street, Saturday afternoon at 4:50 o'clock. The funeral services were held from the Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E.A. Baker, assisted by Dr. Lemon, district superintendent, with burial in Oak Shade cemetery.
The deceased was a devoted wife, a fond mother, and a friend of all. She was born at Monona, Iowa, Aug. 5, 1869, and was the elder daughter of Joshua and Amelia Smith of Monona. She leaves to mourn her death one brother and one sister, a broken-hearted husband and a devoted and loving son, as well as other relatives, and a world of friends.
Relatives here for the funeral were Mrs. John McLaughlin of Schaller, Iowa; Frank, Charles and E.E. Smith of DeWitt and Maree Grier[sic] of Ames.
Friends here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Reed of Clarence; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Brink of Clarence; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McClellan of Clarence; Mr. and Mrs. Clark Flansburg of Clarence; Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Morehead of Clarence; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Elijah of Clarence; Mr. and Mrs. A.D. Young of Clarence; Miss Lois Young of Clarence; John French of Clarence; Mrs. Harry Phillips of Tipton; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Long of Clarence; Miss Lyida Bauman of Clarence; A.D. Hunt of Wyoming.
Ministers who were here were Dr. S.C. Lemon and P.N. Dwello of Mt. Vernon; Dr. Frank Cole and Dr. F.C. Witzigman of Cedar Rapids Dr. Earle A. Baker of Marion; T.A. Trimble of Cedar Rapids; H.E.C. Marrow of Kenwood Park; L.H. Joslin of Anamosa; Thos. Maxwell, Walter Piper and L.D. Stubbs of Kenwood Park.
