Susan I. Stewart, Services Thursday
Susan I Stewart, 79, 594 Sixth ave., died at 4 p.m. Tuesday at a local Nursing home. She had been in failing health for several years but her condition didn't become critical until three weeks ago.
Mrs. Stewart was born Nov. 6, 1870 at Smiths Center, Kansas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Cook. Her mother died when she was three years old and she came to Center Point to make her home with an aunt, Mrs. Chauncey Lyman. She has lived in Marion for more than 50 years. Her husband, David S. Stewart died July 19, 1935.
Mrs. Stewart was a member of Grove City Rebekah Lodge No. 35; the Garden Club and the W.S.A Club. She is survived by a son, Glenn Stewart of Cedar Rapids, a daughter Mrs. Gladys Klemish died at Marion in 1930. She also leaves three grandchildren and one great grandchild and a sister, Emma in Colorado.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 Thursday at the Yocom-Murdoch Funeral home in charge of Rev. James P. Gable and burial was in the family lot in Oak Shade Cemetery.
