George W. Dye Is Dead At Marion

George W. Dye, age 66, died Saturday at 2 a.m. at his home, 1076 Thirteenth street, following a stroke of paralysis suffered late Thursday afternoon. Mr. Dye had been in failing health for some time.
Born July 27, 1866, the son of Enoch and Melvina Dye, in Ohio, he came with his parents to Iowa when he was about a year old, and with the exception of a few years when he lived in Audubon county, he had lived all his life in or near Marion. He was married Jan. 19, 1899 to Anna Jensen. Four children were born to them: Gertrude, George, jr., Melvin Carol, who died in infancy, and Marguerite.
Mr. Dye was a carpenter by trade, and for a number of years had been employed by the Handy Sack Baler company. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and of the Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his widow; two daughters and one son, Mrs. W.F. Michalicek of Cedar Rapids, Miss Marguerite Dye, at home, and George Dye, jr., of Pasadena, Calif; two grandchildren, Robert and Jerald Michalicek of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Will Dye of Marion and Joe Dye of Swea City; one sister, Mrs. Dora Collins of Ardale, and an adopted brother, Harry Dye of Los Angeles.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
