Marion Resident Dies Saturday in Des Moines Hosp
Mrs. Leslie McDonald, 998 Ninth street, passed away at 3:40 a.m. Saturday September 21, in a Des Moines hospital following a months illness.
Mrs. McDonald had gone to Des Moines to visit three nieces, Mrs. Luella Mullins and Mrs. Edna Gallaghter of Des Moines and Mrs. Leola Van Der Hart of Monroe, when she took ill.
Mrs. McDonald was born Daisy Ethel Iehl, daughter of John and Christina Kronmiller Iehl, on June 26, 1879 on a farm near Walker. She was married to Mr. McDonald at Walker on September 28, 1904. They moved to Marion in May 1926 from Racine, Wisconsin and she had made her home here since that time. Mr. McDonald passed away September 15, 1956. She was a member of the Marion Presbyterian church and of the Cornerstones.
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Della Manchester of Long Beach, Calif.
Memorial services were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 23 at the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Jean P. Hauter, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Mrs. Archie Milner was soloist. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery.
