Fred H. Reimers Services Held Here Sunday
Fred H. Reimers passed away at 6:40 p.m. Thursday April 21, at his hom 940 Ninth St. following a long illness.
Born November 16, 1877 at Sabula, the son of John and Katherine Frahm Reimers he came to Marion in 1915 as an employee of the Milwaukee Road. He was married October 20, 1921 at Maquoketa to Miss Lois Emmons of Marion. Mr. Reimers retired in 1945 as a stationary fireman after forty-seven years of service with the railroad. He was a member of the National association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees and of Lodge No. 704, International Association of Machinists.
Memorial services were conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. R. Franklin Galloway. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery.
