Mrs. Mary Todd, 94, Died Early Monday; Services Wednesday
One of the oldest women in Marion, Mrs. Mary Ellen Hodd[sic], died Monday morning at 6:30 o'clock at her home, 1060 Sixth street, Marion, as a result of a fall recently sustained.
She was born April 4, 1846, in Worthington township, Richland county, Ohio, the daughter of Moses and Isabella Armentrout Hammon, and was married in Marion on March 9, 1876, to George W. Todd, who died in this city April 1, 1928. One son, Roy E. Todd, survives. A daughter, Grace E. Todd, died October 11, 1938. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Emma Leigh, of Mount Vernon.
Following their marriage the Todds farmed for a number of years, returning to Marion in 1888. Mrs. Todd was a member of the Marion Methodist church, and of Grove City Rebekah lodge, No. 35.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Yocom chapel with the Rev. Arthur W. Henke, Methodist pastor, in charge. Burial was in the family lot in Oak Shade cemetery.
