Robert N. Moore, 63, of 815 Fifth Ave., a resident of Marion for 25 years and formerly of Tama, died Tuesday Feb. 25, at Palm Springs, Calif. where he had been vacationing. He was born the son of Frank and Candace Sisson Moore on Nov. 18, 1911 at Belle Plaine. On Feb. 6, 1961 at Marion, he was married to Ruth Pierce Klopp. Mr. Moore had been employed by the Chicago & Northwestern Railway for 11 years, and by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific R.R. Co. for 25 years, until retiring in 1974. He was a member of Trojan Lodge No. 548, A.F. & A.M.; was Past Commander of Enright-Schrader Post. No. 73, American Legion of Tama; and had served as Past County Commander of the American Legion in Tama County; was a member of the V.F.W. and Eagles in Tama; and of 40/8 of Marshalltown.
Surviving are his wife; a stepson, Stephen Pierce of Arleta, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Nancy Mangold of Marion; four step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, March 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, conducted by the Rev. Lyle Lee and Trojan Lodge No. 548, A.F. & A.M. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery in Marion with military services by Marion American Legion Post No. 298.
