Ruth E. Moore, 74, of Palm Springs, Calif., formerly of Marion, died Friday in Desert Hospital in Palm Springs, following a short illness.
She was born Aug. 27, 1914, in Sioux City, and married Robert Morre Feb. 16, 1961, in Marion. He died in 1975. Mrs. Moore was employed by the Marion Hy-Vee for 27 years, retiring in 1971. She was secretary-treasurer of Palm Springs Doll Club and was a member of Marion American Legion Post 298 Auxiliary, and Marion Chapter 183, O.E.S.
Survivors include a son, Steven Pierce of Palm Springs, Calif.; a daughter, Nancy Strand of Marion; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Murdoch Chapel, Marionn, by the Rev. Jay Miller of First Presbyterian Church of Marion. Inurnment: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. There will be no visitation. A memorial fund has been established.
