INJURIES FATAL TO L. HOUGH
Injuries received in an automobile accident proved fatal to Lyman Hough, 79, at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, in St. Luke's hospital. Mr. Hough, a retired farmer, received back trauma when the car in which he was riding struck loose gravel and overturned near Center Point 12 days ago.
The son of John and Margaret Turner Hough, he was born March 20, 1867 at Mazon, Ill. On Dec. 7, 1897, he married Fannie Esgar at Wauponsee, Ill. They moved to Marion in 1917 from Verona, Ill. Mrs. Hough died at Marion in 1928. Mr. Hough was a member of the First Methodist church here.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Fitzgerald, Marion and Mrs. Irene Wright, Grimes; three grandchildren, Miss Barbara Fitzgerald, Marion, Jerry and Robert Wright, Grimes, and two brothers, Samuel C. and Frank Hough, both of Mazon, Ill.
Funeral services were conducted from the Yocom chapel at 2 p.m., Tuesday with the Rev. James P. Gable in charge. Pallbearers were A.J. Taube, George Olinger, Leslie Dunn, Carl Wiley, Frank Straley and L.O. Dickey. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
