Last Rites Held for Fred Schenk Today

Funeral services were held this afternoon in the Yocom chapel from Fred Philip Schenk, age 64, who died Monday morning at his home south of Marion. The Rev. C.E. Krog, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church, officiated with interment being made in Oak Shade.
Born May 29, 1866, the son of Philip and Marie Schenk, in Baden, Germany, he came to the United States when sixteen years of age and settled in Iowa.
He was married to Miss Marie Franke August 8, 1889, in Omaha, Nebr., and to them were born eight children.
Surviving are his widow, the children: Mrs. Frank Randall, Marion; Fred Schenk, Central City; Louise Schenk, W.H. Schenk and Mrs. Merle Little, Clinton; Mrs. Leon Falcon, Kenosha, Wis.; and Mrs. W.B. Marsten, Elmira, N.Y., and eight grandchildren.
