Maude M. McBride, 101, a longtime resident of rural Marion died Saturday night, Oct. 22, at the Northbrook Manor Care Center following a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 2, 1881 at Atlantic Iowa and married George V. McBride on Oct. 17, 1907. He died March 10, 1932. She lived on a farm north of Marion for the past 65 years until moving to the care center last June.
She attended Marion High School, a member of the United Methodist Church of Marion and was a charter member of the West Marion Garden Club. Survivors are her daughter-in-law, Ethel McBride, and a grandson, Ivan McBride, both of rural Marion, and a granddaughter, Jeanette Ellen Dearborn, of Dillon, Colo. A son, Melvin, preceded her in death, also three brothers and two sisters.
Services were held at the Baxter Memorial Chapel in Marion, Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Dick Watkins.
Burial was in Oak Shade Cemetery.
