Alice E. Lint Olson, 94, of Crestview Acres Nursing Center, died Sunday, January 14, 2001, in the care center following a lingering illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2001, at Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion, by the Rev. Bill Nissen. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Surviving are her children, Theola Scott and husband Kenneth of Marion, Kenneth G. Lint Sr. and wife Linda of Marion and Douglas K. Lint and wife Barbara of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Evelyn Bills of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a son, Dewey T., a brother, Raymond, a granddaughter, Sandra and a great-grandson, Joshua.
Alice was born the daughter of Earl and Mary Ann Bushnell Eckhart on Dec. 28, 1906, in Oelwein, Iowa. On Dec. 20, 1923, she was united in marriage to Dewey Lint. He died Aug. 17, 1975. Later she married Melvin Olson on April 14, 1976. He died in 1992. Alice received her nursing certification in California and then worked at Hemet Hospital in Hemet, California. In later years she was a hostess at Murdoch Funeral Home in Marion.
A memorial fund has been established in Alice's memory.
