Mrs. Strickell Died Wednesday
Mary Eckhart Strickell, a resident of Marion for 50 years, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, in a Cedar Rapids hospital.
She was born the daughter of Isaac and Alice Coon Bushnell on October 1, 1881, at Manchester. She came to Marion from Arlington.
On January 7, 1902 at Central City she was married to Earl Eckhart who passed away on Dec. 19, 1940. Mrs. Eckhart was married to Charles Strickell on Jan. 10, 1945. Mr. Strickell passed away on De. 13, 1950. Mrs. Strickell as a member of the Marion First Baptist church.
Surviving are a son, Raymond W. Eckhart of Mairon; 2 daughters, Mrs. Dewey (Alice) Lint of Marion and Mrs. W.W. (Evelyn) Bills of Cedar Rapids; a stepson, Clair Strickell of St. Maries, Idaho; and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Sam (Helen) Gallo of Atkins and Mrs. Arlene Mitchell of San Diego, California.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Mrs. Wayne Scott, Kenneth Lint, Douglas Lint, William Bills, Earl Bills, and Mrs. Carl Hof; and five great grandchildren. Two brothers, Lucius and Herbert Bushnell preceded her in death.
Services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 19, at the Murdoch chapel in Marion. Conducted by the Rev. Charles Moore. Interment at Oak Shade cemetery.
