Minnie M. Timson, 92, of 2053 Ninth Ave., and a resident of Marion since 1916, died Thursday, Sept. 4 in a Marion nursing home. She was born the daughter of Frank and Amanda Kelly Thompson on September 26, 1882 at Astoria, Ill. On March 19, 1916 at San Francisco, Calif. she was married to John J. Timson who died October of 1921. Mrs. Timson was employed by the Marion Carnegie Library for 12 years. She was a member of the Marion Christian Church, and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Akers of Marion; six grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three brothers, Russell Thompson of Havana, Ill., Hardy Thompson of Peoria, Ill. and Lemuel Thompson of Dallas, Tex.; and three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Neff of Silvis, Ill., Mrs. Tessie Powell of Canton, Ill. and Mrs. Jess (Grace) Lynch of Havana, Ill. She was preceded in death by a brother, Chester.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8 at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, conducted by the Rev. Peter Morgan. Interment was in Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
