J.R. Stick, Former Alb'nett Grocer Dead

John R. Stick, age 79, for fourteen years a grocer in Lafayette and Alburnett, died in Chicago Saturday after an illness of short duration.
For a number of yaers Mr. Stick was a resident of Linn county and after retiring from the grocery business 22 years ago, moved to Cedar Rapids where he lived until he moved to Chicago in 1933.
He was married in the fall of 1887 to Laura V. Moothart, who with four daughters, Lola, at home, Mrs. Elva Vanderbilt, Mrs. Vida Young Martina and Mrs. Leola Scovel, and two sons, Lee and Ralph, all of Chicago, survive. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Mary Mohler of Alburnett and two brothers, James A. Stick of Alburnett, and H.J. Stick of Marion.
Funeral servics were held Monday in the Christian church with the Rev. Hugh Orchard of Cedar Rapids and the Rev. F.O. Reisinger officiating. Interment was made in Oak Shade cemetery.
