Kenneth E. "Kenny" Silker, 87, a resident of Garnett Place, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, August 2, 2008, in his home following a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Murdoch...Burial: Oak SHade Cemetery, Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Harold, Charles and Theodore; one sister, Marion (Silker) Klinger; and his lontime companion, Mary Craff.
Kenny was born Oct. 31, 1910,t he son of Harley C. and Viola (Stevens) Silker in Waterloo. He married Cecilia (Bubla) Silker in 1938. She died in 1977.
Kenny worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for 38 years. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion, a member of the Conservation Corporation at Backbone State Park in Marion and a member of the Early For V8 Club....
