MRS. R. WIDGER PASSED AWAY SUNDAY EVE

Local Lady Had Been In Ill Health For About Year

Mrs. Robert Widger, 258[can't read] avenue, died Sunday evening, after an illness of nearly a year. As Lucinda Davis, she was born in Cascade, May 16, 1857. She was married to Robert Widger March 23, 1883. The family lived in Cascade, Perry, Manilla and Chicago. Ill. They came to Marion in 1896 and have made their home here since that time.
One son, Walter, was killed in a railroad accident in 1920. Mr. Widger died Dec. 26, 1930. Early in life, Mrs. Widger united with the Baptist church in Cascade, and was a devoted member, teaching in the Sunday school and working in all the activities of the church.
She is survived by one son and two daughters: Clarence Widger of Aurora, Ill., Mrs. Earle Baker of Marion and Verda Widger, at home. Three grandchildren also survive.
She was devoted to her church, her family and home, and will be greatly missed by those who knew her well.
The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Yocom chapel. Dr. W.E. Fisher, pastor of the Presbyterian church, in charge. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery.
