John Brown arrived in Marion Saturday with the body of his father, John B. Brown, who died in California. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church, with the full G.A.R. ritualistic service, give by Robert Mitchell Post, assisted by Rev. Jas. W. Lee, of Cedar Rapids, and Rev. A.H. Hanscom. Many friends gathered to pay their last respects to this beloved old citizen and civil war veteran. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery, at the side of his wife, who preceded him in death.
