Graveside Rites Set For Minnie Balcom
Minnie Dole Balcom, 84, a former Marion resident, died Tuesday in a Minneapolis hospital.
She was born Sept. 3, 1881, at Newhall and was married to Harry L. Dole in 1921. They came to Marion in 1923 and resided here until 1931. Mr. Dole was principal of Marion high school. The couple lived in Duluth from 1931 until he died in 1945. She married Wayne M. Balcom in 1950. Mr. Balcom died a few hours after Mrs. Balcom on Tuesday. She was a member of the Judson Memorial Baptist church and Lynnhurst chapter, OES, in Minneapolis.
Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. F.H. Brunemeier of Hubbard, Emma Gintert of Chicago and Mrs. Fred Werer of Van Horne.
Services: Thursday morning in Minneapolis. The body will be brought to Marion where services will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Murdoch chapel. Burial: Oak Shade. Friends may call at the chapel Thursday after 7 p.m.
