Jesse Y. Scott, a retired farmer, died early Monday in a Cedar Rapids hospital.
He was born Aug. 14, 1886, southeast of Marion. Mr. Scott lived in that area for many years before moving to route 2, Cedar Rapids. He was married to Iva Berry on Jan. 1, 1912 in Marion. He was a member of the old Martin's Creek Methodist church.
Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Topinka, route 2; a grandson, John W. Scott, who made his home with his grandparents; a sister, Lila Ives of Marion, and two brothers Lester of Marion and Gerald of Mount Vernon.
Services: Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Robert Hefty, pastor of the Shueyville EUB church. Burial: Oak Shade. Friends may call at the chapel Monday after 7 p.m.
