Rites To Be Saturday For John A. Cory, 83
John A. Cory, 83, a retired farmer and Wilson and Company employe[sic], died Tusday at 9:17 p.m. at his home, 742 Eighth ave., Marion.
Born Jan. 6, 1875, on a farm near Troy Mills, he was married to Maude M. Duncan at Mt. Vernon Sept. 16, 1890. Mr. and Mrs. Cory moved to Marion in 1925 from their farm southeast of Marion. He had been employed for 18 years by Wilson and Company. He was a member of the Marion Baptist church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are 2 daughters, Mrs. John Hackert of Marion and Mrs. Clayton Spooner of Cedar Rapids; 2 sisters, Mrs. Nancy Dean of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Lester Scott of Marion.
Services: Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Murdoch chapel Marion. Burial in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 1 p.m. Thursday.
