Andrew F. Kershner, 76, of 412 7th St., and a lifelong resident of Marion, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Thursday, March 21 in a Cedar Rapids hospital. He was born the son of Eugene and Laura Fuhrmeister Kershner on Aug. 23, 1897 in Marion. On Oct. 1, 1936 at Cedar Rapids he was married to Pearl B. Jackson, who passed away on March 15, 1951 in Marion. On Oct. 12, 1957 he was married to Irma Knight who passed away in 1958. Mr. Kershner farmed and was later employed by the Linn County Road Department, until his retirement. He was a Rosarian, and well known for raising roses. He was a member of the Marion Christian church, the American Rose Society, and a life member and past president of Linn County Rose Society.
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Edwin (Elizabeth) Sloan of Cedar Rapids.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 1974 at the Murdoch chapel in Marion, conducted by the Rev. Peter Morgan. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery.
