MRS. BERTHA ROSE WEIS DIES AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS OF THREE YEARS

Mrs. Bertha Rose Weis, wife of Henry J. Weis, died early Sunday at the family home, northeast of Marion. She had been ill for more than three years and was confined to bed almost continuously the two years just past.
Mrs. Weis was born in Cedar Rapids Oct. 5, 1862. She was married to Henry J. Weis of Marion, Feb. 23, 1899, and had made her home near Marion since that time.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Weis is survived by three stepsons, George Weis, who is at Camp Dodge, Clemens of Marion, and Roy of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, George Bear and Seth Bear of Harper, Kan.; and two sisters, Mrs. E.F. Kulp and Miss Sophia Bear, of Seville, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held in the Marion Methodist church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. J.P. Van Horn officiating, assisted by the Rev. A.H. Hanscomb[sic]. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
