Lewis Yachik, retired,died at his home, 1515 B.avenue NE, at 9 a.m. Wednesday after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 1,1857, at Albany, N.Y., the son of Adam and Hannah Yachik. On Oct. 25, 1882, he was married to Miss Annella Date at Shullsburg, Wis. A resident of Cedar Rapids for 68 years, he was formerly employed by the Rock Island railroad. He was a member of St. Paul's Methodist church.
Surviving are his wife, Annella; two sons, Bernerd F. Yachik of Savanna, Ill., and Royal P. Yachik of Ventura, Calif.; two brothers, Charles and Edward Yachik of Waverly; three sisters, Mrs. Linda Saffaline of Sanborn, Mrs. Minna Saffaline of La Porte City and Mrs. Mary Conlisk of Cedar Falls; two grandsons, Don Yachik of Savanna, Ill. and Ted Yachik of Ventura, Calif.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Moen chapel at 4 p.m. Friday by Dr. Charles J. Bready. Friends may call at the chapel.
