ZOLA YACHIK DIED AT HER RAPIDS HOME
Was Popular Teacher In Junior High for Many Years
Funeral services were held at the Turner chapel Tuesday for Miss Zola Yachik, who died at her home, 349 Twelfth street SW, Cedar Rapids, at 10:30 Saturday night. The services were attended by many of her friends from Marion.
Born in Cedar Rapids in 1884, Miss Yachik taught school a short time near Ely, and then taught in the junior high at Marion for many years. Hundreds of Marion young people who came under her supervision learned to love her for her many splendid qualities, and they carried the lessons in the best ways of living, which she taught them along with their books, into the world with them, ever holding a reverent memory of Miss Yachik. She was known as an unusually good instructor, and was a fine influence upon all with whom she came in contact.
Her death followed a lingering illness. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Yachik, two brothers, Frank Bernerd Yachik of Savanna, Ill., and R.P. Yachik of Long Beach, Calif. Miss Yachik was a member of St. Paul's Methodist church.
