Evelyn B. Miller, 102, a longtime Cedar Rapids resident, passed away Oct. 16, 1993, in South Bend, Ind. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Friday, Chapel at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1285 Third Ave. SE. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Born Jan. 31, 1891, in Abilene, Kan., she was raised in Tipton, Iowa, and attended State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She married Earl Ellis Sweitzer in 1910. They had three children: Richard D. Sweitzer, Elinor B. Sweitzer (Hiland) and Robert Sweitzer. She was widowed in 1920. In 1924, she married Dr. S.B. Miller and they resided at 1220 Third Ave. SE for many years. From 1972 to 1983, she lived at Geneva Tower and then moved to the Milton Home in South Bend, Ind.
Mrs. Miller was employed for many years by St. Luke's Hospital. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years, Kinds Daughters and Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority Mothers Club.
She is survived by a son, Robert Sweitzer of South Bend; four grandchildren, Cynthia, Kent and Kirk Hiland and Davis Sweitzer,and seven great-grandchildren.
