C.B.F. Michel, 84, a lifelong Marion rural resident, died Tuesday in a Cedar Rapids hospital.
He was born Nov. 10, 1880, on the farm on which he resided at the time of his death. He was married to Ella Crosley at Albion, Wis., on Aug. 10, 1904. Mrs. Michel died Jan. 14, 1958, in Marion. He was married to Lenora Winter at Marion on Jan. 20, 1961.
Mr. Michel retired from farming in 1959. He was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist church of Milton, Wis., the Master Farmers club, a founder of the Linn Co-operative Oil Co., and was active in community affairs.
Survivors are his wife; a son, George of Marion; a daughter, Mrs. Stanely Stevens of Viroqua, Wis.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services: Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Elmo Randolph, pastor of the Milton church, and W. Allen Bond, pastor of the United Seventh Day Brethren church of Marion. Burial: Oak Shade. Friends may call at the chapel Thursday afternoon.
