Services for Davis Reynolds, 88, who died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, follow a two weeks illness, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday from the Yocom chapel. Rev. H.L. Buesing, pastor of the American Lutheran church of Anamosa, officiated and vocal numbers were offered by George Wessels and H.L. Buesing. Pallbearers were Robert Harden, Harlie Reynolds, jr., James Reynolds, William Norton, Charles Daws and Orville Collins, jr., grandsons of Mr. Reynolds. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
Davis Reynolds, born July 17, 1858 in Otter Creek township, Linn county, was the last surviving of 11 children born to Nathan and Charlotte Reynolds. He married Martha Ann Maddox on Dec. 21, 1879 at Greens Grove near Center Point. Mrs. Reynolds died at Marion, March 20, 1937. Retiring in June, 1928 after 35 years as car repairman with the Milwaukee railroad, he had lived all his life in Linn county with the exception of the last six years which were spent with his daughter, Mrs. W.O. Norton at Anamosa. He was a member of the Marion Christian church.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Mable Sharp, Oak Forrest, Ill., Mrs. Harmie Norton, Anamosa, Mrs. Ethel Daws, Mrs. Hazel Harden and Mrs. Stella Collins, Marion, 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Grace Taylor and two sons, John and Harlie, preceded him in death.
