Mrs. Harriet Fogel Combs died Sunday morning at 9:20 o'clock, at the family residence, 329 Tenth street, from heart failure.
Harriet Fogel Brown was born at Canton, O., July 25, 1832, where she resided until 1844, when her parents moved to Marion, Iowa. In 1854 she was married to Wm. H. Combs and resided on a farm in the vicinity of Marion until some three years ago when they moved to this city. To them were born five children, three of whom are living--Mrs. A.A. McManus, Palo, Iowa; W.W. Combs, Robins, Iowa, and Mrs. H.L. Smith of Cedar Rapids.
Mrs. Combs was one of the early settlers of Linn county, having settled here when Cedar Rapids had but few houses.
The funeral services were held at the residence at 10:30 a.m. today and the body interred in Shiloh cemetery.
