Alice Goldsberry, 89, widow of Francis M. Goldsberry, 1155 Twelfth street, Marion, died Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. at a Marion nursing home, following a long illness.
She was born March 2, 1867, in Franklin county, Pa., and came to Linn county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bock. She was married May 12, 1893, at Toddville. They resided on a farm east of Marion. Mr. Goldsberry died there Feb. 1, 1918. Mrs. Goldsberry came to Marion in 1919.
She was a member of the Marion Methodist church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. H.F. (Louise) Ives, Mrs. J.M. (Ruth) Gibney and Bess Milner, all of Mairon; two sons, Frank Goldsberry of Lakesport, Calif., and H.R. Goldsberry of Scenic, S.D.; 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Stickney of Los Angeles and Miss Emma Bock of Marshalltown.
Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. James P. Gable. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
