He had made a brave fight for his health for several years and had gone to Texas for the winter months, but his strength failed so he was unable to return home. During his illness his wife has been his constant companion.
The body was brought to Marion and the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon in the Presbyterian church with his pastor the Rev. A.H. Hanscom of the Methodist church, officiating. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Reichard Holloway, and his sons, Harold E. and Paul J. Holloway, of Yakima, Wash., De Wilson Holloway of Portland, Ore.; E.E. Holloway of Mason City; J.W. Holloway of Denair, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. W.A. Kraemer of Iowa City; also a step mother, Mrs. Mary Holloway of West Branch, and a half sister, Mrs. E.B. Lodge of McCausland.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Francis Rebecca, and Marie Francis Jackson Holloway, the mother of his children with whom he was joined in marriage at Marion Nov. 25, 1894.
Mr. Holloway was reared in the Quaker faith but on coming to Marion he united with the Methodist church and was a member of the official board at the time of his death. Having been extensively engaged in the real estate business for twenty-eight years, Mr. Holloway had formed a large circle of friends and acquaintances and was held in high esteem by his business associates.
