Anna Lea R. Oxley, 84, a resident of Lantern Park Care Center, Coralville, formerly of Iowa City and Center Point, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 1995, in Mercy Hospital after a lengthy illness...
Survivors include her husband, Marshall of Muscatine, formerly a longtime resident of Iowa City; a son {private}; and a sister, Wanda Rae Domer of Center Point.
Born Aug. 8, 1910, in Center Point, she was the daughter of O.C. and Bertha Knight Heverly. Anna Lea grea up and attended schools in Center Point, graduating from Center Point high school, and later studied music at Coe College in Cedar Rapids. She was a longtime employee of the Iowa City Sears and Roebuck store, retiring in 1975. Anna Lea was a longtime member of Iowa City Business and Professional Women's Association and, while at Coe, was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. During World War II, she worked in a radio component factory in Cedar Rapids. She married Marshall Oxley on Sept. 24, 1934, in Clinton.
Memorials may be made to University Baptist Church.
