Clarence R. Oxley, 82, of 1043 Twelfth street, a lifelong Linn county resident, died Thursday morning in a Cedar Rapids hospital. Born Feb. 17, 1880, at Marion, he was married to Lizzie Groll at Des Moines on May 7, 1902. The Oxleys celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Mr. Oxley was a retired livestock dealer. He was a member of First Methodist church.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Helen Oxley of Marion; two sons, Marshall of Burlington and Charles R. of Center Point; three grandchildren and a sister, Bertha Blinks of Marion.
Services: Sunday at 2 in the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Ralph E. Baker. Burial: Oak Shade. Friends may call at the chapel after 5 p.m. Friday.
