Marion Weekly Sentinel Thursday August 17, 1922

Noble Porter Gooley, son of Sarah and Thomas Gooley was born in Pisquaway County, Ohio, June 17, 1850 and passed away at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar rapids, Iowa, August 3rd, 1922.
He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Francis Hawk, September 2nd, 1877. To this union six children were born, one dying in infancy. Those who survive are, Mrs. L.A. Klumph, Mrs. Charles Guzzle, Mrs. Harley Guzzle, all of Marion, John Gooley of Anamosa and Mrs. Myrtle Brown, also two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hodgson and Mrs. Ella Johnson and two brothers, George and Richard. Five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church, at 2:30 p.m., August 6th, 1922, conducted by Rev. H.G. Finney assisted by Rev. Sam Noah of the Christian church, Mr. Gooley having been a member of the Presbyterian church of this city.
He was laid to rest in Oakshade cemetery, beside his wife who passed away seven years ago.
The floral offerings were many and beautiful.
