Bernice E. Bristol, 64, 435 18th St., Marion, and widow of George E. Bristol, passed away Sunday morning, March 27, at a Cedar Rapids hospital following a long illness. She was born March 5, 1902 in Northeast Linn County the daughter of Louis and Flora Gooley Klumph. She moved to Marion as a baby and has lived in this community since that time. A graduate of Marion high school with the class of 1920 she was married on Aug. 30, 1922 at Marion to Mr. Bristol. He passed away on Feb. 1, 1959.
Mrs. Bristol was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marion, Winter Temple, Pythian Sisters, Grove City Rebekah Lodge No. 35, Robert Mitchell Post No. 126, W.R.C. and the Milwaukee Womans Club.
Surviving are three daughters Mrs. Dale (Marilyn) Wicke, Mrs. Fred (Mary Lou) Wills and Mrs. Donald (Judy) Burns, all of Marion; ten grandchildren, Mary Ellen, David, John and Thomas Wicke, Lindy Lou, Thomas and Jeffrey Wills, Christine, Deniis [sic] and Jennifer Burns, all of Marion and a sister, Mrs. Merle (Dorothy) Robison of Marion.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion by the Rev. Jean P. Hauter, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Interment in Oak Shade Cemetery.
