George E. Bristol Is Dead at Age 58

George E. Bristol, 58, of 435 Eighteenth st., Marion, died Sunday night at the Iowa City Veterans hospital. Born June 12, 1900, at Savanna, Ill., he came to Marion with his parents when 12 years old and was married Aug. 30, 1922, to Berenice [sic] Klumph. A Milwaukee railroad switchman until he retired 8 years ago, he had operated the popcorn stand in the city park for several years. He was an army veteran of World war I and a member of the Marion American Legion post. Surviving are his wife; 3 daughters, Mrs. Dale Wicke, Mrs. Fred Wills and Judy, all of Marion; a brother, Richard of Marion, and his father, Orville Bristol of Cedar Rapids.
Services: Thursday at 1:30 in the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. J.P. Hauter. Burial: Oak Shade. Friends may call at the chapel.
