Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Yocom chapel for Mrs. Sarah Hickman Newell, who died Tuesday, April 12, at her home in Tuscon, Arizona.
Mrs. Newell was a sister of Mrs. W.J. Greer and Mark Hickman of Marion and Mrs. Laura Gillmore of Springville. Until about eight years ago Mrs. Newell lived five miles north of Marion. At that time Mr. and Mrs. Newell moved to Arizona.
Sarah Hickman, daughter of Shelton and Chloa Ross Hickman, was born July 13, 1877, in Jones county near Monticello and was married at Alburnett to Harry Newell, who survives. Surviving also besides Mrs. Greer, Mrs. GIllmore and Mr. Hickman, is another sister, Mrs. Carrie Cowan of Los Angeles.
The Rev. E.T. Gough, pastor of the Methodist church, of which she was a member, wil lofficiate [sic] at the funeral service. Interment will be made in Oak Shade cemetery.
