Services Were Held This Morning for Mary K. Johnson, 70

Mary K. Johnson died at a local hospital Tuesday, June 28, at 12:15 a.m., following a long illness. She was born in Klinting, Denmark, July 18, 1868, the daughter of Loren N. and Helen Olesen Jesse, and came to the United State in 1887, and to Marion the following year. She was married May 18, 1888, to August E. Johnson, who died December 29, 1929.
She is survived by their son, Alfred C. Johnson of Marion; two grandchildren, Raymond Johnson, of Cedar Rapids, and Norman Johnson, of Marion, and by three sisters, Mrs. S.E. Tranberry of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. B.L. Bjornsen, of Sacremento [sic], Calif., and Mrs. George Boas, Yakima, Wash., and by two brothers, Ole and Jacob Jessen, in Denmark. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Lutheran church.
Funeral services were held this Thursday morning at ten o'clock from the Yocom chapel, with the Rev. Carl E. Krog, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church in charge. Burial was made in Oak Shade cemetery.
