Mrs. Evelyn Rich Died Sunday Night In Chicago Hospital
Mrs. Evelyn Marguerite Rich, died Sunday evening, Nov. 26, in a Chicago hospital following a brief illness.
She was born May 5, 1919 in Marion, the daughter of Frank and Lula May Wilson Newcomb, and was married to Austin Rich, who survives together with their daughter, Joyce Diane. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Phyllis Locher, of Marion, and five brothers, Charles, Chicago; S 1/c Frederick, in the navy at sea; S 2/c Gerald, of the navy; Pfc. Robert, San Diego and Russell, of Marion.
The deceased had lived in Chicago since her marriage. Her earlier life and schooling was in Marion. She was a member of the Marion Methodist church.
Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from the Yocom chapel in Marion with the Rev. James P. Gable in charge of services. The bearers were Alvan, Arthur, Kenneth, and Melvin Rich. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
