Bert H. Mercer, who has been confined to his home for nearly two years with stomach trouble died yesterday morning at 5 o'clock at his home, 742 Eighth avenue. He was foreman of a concrete crew for the C.M. & St. P. Ry. until his health would no longer permit him to work. Mr. Mercer was 65 years of age and has been a Marion resident for many years. He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Mrs. Emma Smith of Sigourney. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2:30 from the residence, conducted by Rev. A.T. Bishop of the Methodist church.
