Mrs. Stella Erwin of 1675 Seventh avenue, Marion, died at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday in a Cedar Rapids hospital after a long illness.
Born at Marion, the daughter of John and Mary Elizabeth Young Franz, Mrs. Erwin had spent her entire life here with the exception of a year at Des Moines. She was graduated from the Marion schools and was married to George L. Erwin Oct. 22, 1907. She was a member of the Marion Methodist church and of Marion Linn chapter, D.A.R.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, George L. Erwin, Jr., of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Kirkham of Ames; six grandchildren and a brother, Jay L. Franz of Chicago.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Yocom chapel by the Rev. James P. Gable. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
