Obituary from the Tuesday May 21, 1974 edition of The Cedar Rapids Gazette from Cedar Rapids, Iowa:
Edward William Harriott, 66, of 5115 Mt. Vernon road SE, died suddenly, Monday. He was retired from Northwester Bell Telephone Co. after 43 years of service.
Born Sept. 24, 1907, in Grand Island, Neb., he had been a resident of Cedar Rapids the last 30 years. He and the former Thelma W. Hickman were married July 5, 1930, at Jefferson. He was a life member of Telephone Pioneers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Edward William, jr., of Ames, and Thomas Lee, Cedar Rapids, and four grandsons.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Turner chapel east by the Rev. Carroll Van Anda. Burial: Campbell cemetery. Friends may call at Turner east.
