Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Marble were held at 2:30 p.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.E. Blinks, North Tenth street. The Rev. Harry Glenn Finney, assisted by the Rev. Albert Hale Hanscom, was in charge. Miss Marguerite Sutherland sang "Whispering Hope" and "Asleep in Jesus." Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
Mrs. Marble was born in Victory, N.Y., July 17, 1845. Her parents were Wileman and Sarah Olmsted, who whom were born ten children, five boys and five girls, all being deceased except two sisters in New York and one brother of Humblodt, Iowa. She was married to Grove Marble at Elbridge, N.Y., Jan. 26, 1863. To them were born three children, Carrie, now Mrs. C.E. Blinks, of Marion, Inez Imogene, who died in infancy, and Edith L. of Chicago.
She died June 18.
She was a quiet, unassuming, loving mother, beloved by all who met her. Possessed of a strong, keen intellent [sic], she kept her interest in all events of the day to the last. The last nine years since her husband's death she has lived with her daughter, Edith in Chicago.
