Thirty-seven years ago he was converted and became a member of the Methodist Church at Fairfax, which membership was transferred to Marion. He leaves to mourn his death, by which they lose one of the kindest and most unselfish of husbands and fathers, the wife and two daughters, Mrs. C.E. After six years of failing health and one week of the most severe suffering that frail, human bodies are called upon to bear, death came peacefully at the home east of Marion, in which locality the family have resided twenty-seven years, and his loving and tender being passed into eternal rest where all suffering will be over and he will be at rest with loved ones gone before.

Sanderson, D.D., pastor of the Marion Church. There was a large attendance of neighbors and friends of the city and country. The music was furnised by Mrs. V.G. Shumack, Miss Blanche Kerr, J.B. Finney and W.B. Nelson. Those who acted as pall bearers were: W.E. Beall, A.M. Secrist, W.P. Secrist, James Jordan, F.M. Goldsberry and G.C. Fernow. The floral offering were very numerous and beautiful. The remains were interred in the Oak Shade cemetery.
