George F. Munier, 73, of 1235 Fourteenth street, Marion, a retired farmer, died Thursday at 8:45 p.m. in a Cedar Rapids hospital following a seven weeks' illness.
Born June 17, 1883, on a farm north of Marion, his entire life was spent in and around Marion. He was married Oct. 31, 1907, at Lisbon, to Margaret Belle Starks. Mrs. Munier died Nov. 10, 1941. Mr. Munier was married to Mary Fagan at Cedar Rapids Jan. 20, 1945.
Mr. Munier resigned a year ago after serving many years on the board of directors of the Farmers Elevator Company. He was a member of the Marion Presbyterian church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Theodore and Harold Munier, both of Marion, and two daughters, Mrs. Austin (Mary) Coons of Springville and Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Beach of Marion.
Services: Monday at 10 a.m. at the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. William H. Blessington. Burial in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 3 p.m. Saturday.
