Mrs. Louise Clements Munier, 87, succumbed to the toll of years Wednesday morning after a week of acute illness though an invalid for the past two years.
She had resided in Marion and vicinity since 1868. Her birthplace was France, and at the age of 21 came to America, first living in Dubuque for a time, then coming to Marion where she learned most of American, her language and her ways. In 1879 she was married to George Munier, and first lived on a farm a mile north of Marion. In 1904 they moved southeast of town and in 1906, Mr. Munier's health failing, they moved to Marion. He died the following year. Since then she and her daughter, Lucie, have made their home at 871 Tenth street.
Mrs. Munier also is survived by a son, George, who is on the farm, four grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Lucille Touro of near Marion.
Mrs. Munier was a devoted member of the Presbyterian church. Her pastor, Dr. W.E. Fisher, is conducting the funeral service this afternoon from the Yocom chapel. Burial will be in Oak Shade.
