Peter H. Fishel, for many years a resident of Linn county, died at his home on the corner of Ninth avenue and Eighth street Sunday morning at 8:30. He had been in very poor health for several years.
Mr. Fishel was born in Ohio, Jan. 24, 1839. At the age of 26 he came to Iowa, having been married before emigrating. He lived on a farm near Robins about 30 years, then moved to Marion and has lived here about 12 years. He is survived by his wife, a brother and sister in Ohio; a sister in Illinois and six children: Mrs. J.R. Good, Waterloo; Mrs. C.O. Wilson, Cedar Rapids; F.H. Fishel, Mt Vernon; Mrs. Albert Zachery, Alburnett; Mrs. Inez Helbig, Marion; and Mrs. J.A. Miles, Robins. Mr. Fishel always took an interest in public affairs and was a representative citizen.
Funeral services will be held from the Marion Methodist church Tuesday at 2:30 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. Van Horne of Cedar Rapids. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
