Mrs. Jacob Maier, Long Resident Here, Died Tuesday Noon
The funeral services were held this afternoon at two o'clock from the Presbyterian church for Mrs. Jacob Maier, who passed away on Tuesday. The Rev. W.E. Fisher was in charge, and interment was in Oak Shade.
Mrs. Maier had been a resident of Linn county for a long period of years, and had lived in Marion for the past twenty-two years.
As Caroline Schweitzer she was born in Erie, Pa., Oct. 21, 1855. She came with her parents to Iowa in early life, settling on a farm near Alburnett. She was married to Jacob Maier on Dec. 25, 1879, and to them were born six children.
Mr. and Mrs. Maier retired from the farm and moved to Marion 22 years ago. Mr. Maier died Sept. 26, 1923 [sic].
Mrs. Maier was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Calista Dubbs, Marion; C.F. Maier and Wade Maier, Alblurnett; Mrs. Charity Michel, Marion, and Miss Ruth Maier at home. One daughter, Esther, died Feb. 6, 1925.
