Former Marion Resident Dies in St. Paul Friday
Charles Alexander, 71, a former Marion resident, passed away early Friday morning in a St. Paul, Minn., hospital. He was born March 9, 1882 at Walker, the son of James and Lenora Reynolds Alexander. He went to St. Paul more than thirty years ago and worked for the Rock Island Lines and the National Barge Lines until he retired about five years ago.
Mr. Alexander is survived locally by four nieces and nephews, Mrs. Clar Baumgardner and Dewey Alexander of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Margaret Seeks and Richard Alexander of Marion.
Memorial services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Charles Moore at the Yocom-Murdoch Chapel. Interment was in the family lot in Oak Shade cemetery.
